On the 19th and 20th of April 2008, 485 (Harborne and Quinton) Squadron Air Training Corps took part in a sponsored 24-hour drill activity. This involved the cadets collectively marching for 24 hours, without stopping, to raise money for the Squadron’s mini bus and travel costs. The cadets were split into 3 teams and worked in shifts throughout the 24-hour period.
Flight Lieutenant Coates, Officer Commanding 485 Squadron said “All of the Cadets worked really hard during the 24-hours. They all learnt something new. The new recruits passed their Basic Drill Test and the older Cadets learnt how to parade with the Squadron Banner and took part in a Continuity Drill sequence (a set of 20 drill maneuvers without a single spoken order).”
